We played a double header against Tadley this time last season and it's a particularly nice fixture for me, partly because it's not even 5 minutes down the road from me, so I can walk it (but cheers Mick for the lift back!), but also as I have great respect for what Goff White (Tadley Chairman) and Manager Craig Effer have achieved there since the club were put into turmoil when Andy Shoulder departed. I'm reliably told the club is now debt free and able to look to the future with confidence, and that's great news. It must have been a huge challenge, not only paying off debts but putting a competitive team out at the same time. Well done.

The game was just what both teams would have wanted from a pre-season friendly - well matched sides and a good competitive workout. Both will have taken positives from it. Was good to see Razor back and I was delighted to see Keiron Thorne out there again and to hear he's rejoined us, but several of the new faces also impressed me. The side is shaping up well. I was also delighted to have a chat with another favourite player of mine who'd turned up to watch the game. I very much hope we'll see him in the Hartley shirt this coming season, but I'll say no more than that for now.

Just gutted that I'm off away on Tuesday and will miss the Maidenhead and Basingstoke games. Well, gutted that I'll miss the games, not that I'm off on hoilday with the missus (got to be careful what I say!).

Shinner, Luke, sorry I didn't txt you guys the scores - left my phone at home.

Thanks for the report Kev. Couldn't make yesterday due to domestic issues. Have a good break. Cheers Luke

Ta Kob

How did my mate Grovesy do? He plays upfront normally but has been playing centre mid for the RAF. Think Nev might have played him right mid, blonde freaky hair do!

Not sure about the freaky hair but there was a blonde-haired lad playing right mid second half (wearing 6 I think) who did quite impress me. If that's him then yeah, he showed well.
